Chicago natives, Kat and Vernon Williams are art enthusiasts and collectors who relocated to the valley of Phoenix in 2016. The duo brought a refreshed blend of urban, cosmopolitan sophistication and ambiance to the historical district's Grand Avenue scene. Onyx Gallery continues to succeed in its quest to connect visual and performance artists to patrons of the arts and collectors. Via its series of smartly curated exhibits and innovative events, the well-presented Onyx aesthetic is widely received and celebrated by the creative community of the valley.
The Williams have provided a new platform for Arizona artists which they are now taking across the country. Recently, they launched “Onyx/Chi”, a developing series of live music and visual arts events that will “pop -up” in a succession of changing venues in their home town of Chicago. In expansion, other cities, like Atlanta, Las Vegas and San Diego, will experience the Onyx vibe to promote the arts.
